Sensational latin jazz featuring no less than six Cuban masters with salsa party Salsa Panorama afterwards. Cuban-born master drummer Michael Olivera is an authority when it comes to latin jazz. Renowned pianist Chucho Valdès praises the way he fuses Afro-Cuban music with jazz, flamenco, and other styles. Outside of the latin scene Michael Olivera has built a glorious career as well, working with the likes of Quincy Jones, Sting, Tomatito, and Yonathan Avishai. In The Cuban Jazz Syndicate he forms a unity with no less than six other Cuban virtuosos: a true latin jazz spectacle! Michael Olivera learned everything about Cuban music at the National School of Art in Havana. He played with the most important musicians on the island and traveled all over the world. The Spanish newspaper El Mundo wrote: "Olivera surprises, not only for his virtuosity with drums and sticks, but for his ability to understand music, composing a personal jazz that takes its cue from many traditions such as the Yoruba songbook, Cuban jazz, and jazz from other places in the world."
