New Generation: A new generation of jazz musicians in the Netherlands are eager to make their voices heard. Whether it is straight-ahead jazz, free jazz or crosses with classical; they are ready to take over from their masters. But not before they have spent some time together to learn from each other. This year, New Generation once again portrays four Dutch jazz talents who have clearly taken their own path in music and are respected by the generations that preceded them. How did these great talents get to where they are today and when did their paths cross with those of the older masters? There is room for their story in the portraits, but also for live music. The different generations play together in special sessions throughout the Netherlands.
