It was in February 2016 that the trumpeter Avishai Cohen - not to be confused with his namesake bassist - made a big impression by releasing on the prestigious German label ECM one of the most beautiful albums of the year 2016, "Into the silence". , who received the Grand Prix from the Jazz Academy in 2017. The one who had deployed all the energy of his post bop playing, notably alongside saxophonist Mark Turner, then delivered demanding meditative music, an infinitely pure sound and very intimate and deeply moving compositions.
