Remarkable harmony between trumpet playing and vocals, led by celebrated French jazz player.
Trumpeter Airelle Bresson is praised for her clear, powerful sound. In her home country of France she has received multiple important jazz awards. After five years, the sound of her current band has strengthened. Their new album Try! sounds spontaneous and accessible. Swedish vocalist Isabel Sörling plays an important part with her wordless vocals, alternated with song lyrics.
Airelle Besson started playing trumpet at a very young age. She was trained by, among others, Wynton Marsalis, Pierre Gillet and Kato Havas. She has been a valued member of various groups led by prestigious artists, notably in Charlie Haden and Carla Bley’s Liberation Music Orchestra. Additionally, she has collaborated with legends such as Michel Portal, Manu Katché, and Philip Catherine, and with younger greats such as Avishai Cohen, Greg Hutchinson and José James.
