The flexible wind ensemble made up of leading players gave its debut performance at the Aldeburgh Festival in 2018. Janáček’s nostalgic celebration of youth is set against Britten’s little-known movement of 1930, and the most famous of the wind quintets of the highly original, Czech-born Anton Reicha (1770-1836), published in 1818.
