On May 7, 2023 as part of our Jazz Icons series we hosted eight-time GRAMMY-winning bassist Christian McBride and NEA Jazz Master, pianist Kenny Barron at a concert in our historic space.
Christian McBride is the Artistic Director of JAZZ HOUSE KiDS and has performed with jazz greats like Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Joe Henderson, Diana Krall, and Chick Corea, as well as pop legends like Sting, The Roots, Paul McCartney, and Celine Dion. Barron has shared the stage with Dizzy Gillespie, Ron Carter, Stan Getz, Yusef Lateef, and Regina Carter.
Presented in collaboration with JAZZ HOUSE KiDS. Trinity Church, consecrated on Ascension Day 1846, is considered one of the first and finest examples of Neo-Gothic architecture in the United States. With a 281-foot high steeple, Trinity was the tallest building in New York City until 1890. The ruins of the first Trinity Church after the Great Fire of 1776.
Trinity Church Wall Street is an active Episcopal Parish that has been an integral part of New York City’s history for more than 300 years.
