BIMHUIS TV Presents: Fuensanta & Ensamble Grande

Singer, bassist and composer makes her grand entry as our New Maker! This June, our New Maker Fuensanta presents music from her upcoming debut studio album and other new compositions. She has been working on this material in residency at BIMHUIS Productions for the last couple of months. Now, she will grace the stage together with her Ensamble Grande and other special guests, i.a. Louis Cole, to paint BIMHUIS in a mix of music, visuals, photography, stage design and movement. Fuensanta Méndez is singer, double bassist, improvisor, and composer – born in Veracruz, Mexico, and based in Amsterdam. Like no other, she fuses atmospheric playing with poetry and folklore, in innovative ways. With her vocals, bass, and poetry she explores themes of revolution, love and myth. The fact that her ideas reach further than music is also apparent from her photo exhibition Amancio, which can be seen in our cafe. The opening of the exhibition takes place on June 11 at 7 PM. BIMHUIS Productions The prolific musician resides in BIMHUIS Productions from 2021 until 2023, where she’ll record her debut studio album and prepare a live tour. We assist her in sharpening and expanding her composition and orchestrations skills, in educating herself in the worlds of performance art, poetry and studio production, and in merging different elements into a total work.
