With his reputation as an unusually thoughtful and highly considered artist as well as a violinist of individuality as well as integrity, Christian Tetzlaff has long been welcomed in the world’s greatest concert and recital halls, in addition to enjoying a high-profile recording career. In 2005 Musical America named him Instrumentalist of the Year, while his discs have won several major awards. Josef Suk was Dvořák’s pupil and subsequently son-in-law. His 1900 4 Pieces are strikingly atmospheric. Dedicated to Brahms, his stirring Piano Quintet was composed in 1893 and revised in 1915. In this recital, Christian Tetzlaff will be performing with Florian Donderer violin; Timothy Ridout viola; Tanja Tetzlaff cello; and Kiveli Dörken piano.
