Brad Mehldau is one of the most important pianists in modern jazz. With his precision and natural sense of harmony, he jumps effortlessly from one subgenre to another. Brad Mehldau played one of the last concerts in TivoliVredenburg in March 2020 before the country went into lockdown. Since then he has mainly resided in the Netherlands and has mostly been busy composing. One of the outcomes, the wonderful solo album Suite: April 2020, was released last year. At the invitation of Transition Festival, he has put together a quartet with which he has never appeared on stage before. Spanish drummer Jorge Rossy is a well-known face of the Brad Mehldau Trio, and is supplemented by two Dutchmen: bassist Clemens van der Feen and bass clarinetist Joris Roelofs.
