After a two-year break, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony and the European Central Bank finally invite you back to the Open Air at Frankfurt's Main embankment. This time it will be a summer night in which the night itself is the musical focus – not least in the form of the »Nocturne«, the »Night Piece«. Frédéric Chopin was a master of these shadowy tones, as was the French impressionist Claude Debussy. And the music of the Pole Mieczysław Weinberg also fits into this mood. The evening opens operatically dramatic with the overture to »The Power of Destiny« by the Italian Giuseppe Verdi.
