Ron Carter / A Song For You

AllMusic Review by

A change of pace session for Carter. He pairs his formidable basslines and playing against a backdrop of four cellists, outstanding drummer Jack DeJohnette, and at various times pianists Kenny Barron or Leon Pendarvis, guitarist Jay Berliner, and percussionist Ralph McDonald. Things generally work, although sometimes the low energy level and lack of tension threaten to turn this into easy listening material.

A Song for You is an album by bassist Ron Carter recorded at Van Gelder Studio in 1978 and released on the Milestone label.[1][2]
