AllMusic Review by

Holmes is at the helm of a strong quartet on That Healin' Feelin', with especially notable contributions from Rusty Bryant (himself a soul-jazz artist of note) on sax and Billy Butler on guitar. The title track and "Irene Court" have especially nimble touches, and "Laura" slows the tempo down for some sensuous soloing by Bryant; the honky tonk treatment of "See See Rider" gets closest to straight R&B territory. This has been reissued with another 1968 session, The Groover!, on the single-disc Prestige CD Legends of Acid Jazz.
